FPL Planner

Enter your Team ID and get one plan for the gameweek: the transfers to make, whether to take a hit or roll, who to captain, and whether to play a chip. Every line of it is explained from the numbers behind it.

Open the Fantasy Premier League site, go to Points, and read the number in the address bar after /entry/. That is your Team ID. Nothing else is needed: squad, budget, free transfers and chips are all read for you.

Do not have a Team ID handy? See the planner on a sample squad - a full plan built from a fixed example dataset. Every screen says "Sample data" while it is on, and it writes nothing to your planner.

One answer, not a wall of statistics

Most FPL tools hand you tables and leave the decision to you. This one commits. It reads your squad from the public Fantasy Premier League API, projects every player over a rolling multi gameweek horizon, and returns a single recommendation for the deadline: the transfer to make or the free transfer to bank, the captain and vice-captain, the starting eleven and bench order, and whether a chip is worth playing this week.

How the plan is built

  • Expected minutes first

A player who starts six games in ten is not the same asset as one who starts ten, so appearance and start probability drive everything downstream.

  • Fixtures as probabilities

Each match becomes expected goals for and against and a clean sheet probability, rather than a difficulty colour.

  • Position specific scoring

Keepers are projected on saves and clean sheets, defenders on clean sheets and defensive contribution, attackers on expected goals and assists.

  • Real prices

Selling prices are reconstructed from your transfer history, so a recommendation you cannot afford is never shown.

  • Horizon, not just this week

A transfer that wins this gameweek and loses the ones after it is not an upgrade, and the planner is scored on the whole horizon net of any hit.

Transfer planner, captain picker and chip strategy

The transfer search checks every candidate against budget, club limit, position counts and squad size before it is scored, so an illegal or unaffordable move cannot reach the screen. Hits are recommended only when the horizon gain clears the four point cost with room to spare, and keeping a free transfer is treated as a real option with its own value rather than as doing nothing. Captaincy is scored on upside as well as average points, because the captain armband is a risk decision. Wildcard, free hit, bench boost and triple captain are each evaluated against the rest of the season, and "hold your chips" is a normal, confident answer.

Before the season starts

Between seasons there is no squad to import, because Fantasy Premier League only publishes picks once a gameweek has been played. The planner says so plainly and offers the same optimizer as a squad builder, so you can open the season with a legal, affordable fifteen. When gameweek one goes live, the normal import takes over.

Questions the planner answers

Where do I find my FPL Team ID?

Open the Fantasy Premier League site, go to the Points tab, and read the number in the address bar after /entry/. That number is your Team ID. It is public, it is not a password, and it is the only thing this planner needs: your squad, budget, free transfers and chip status are all read from the public FPL API.

Is a -4 hit worth it?

Only when the gain clears the cost over the whole horizon, not just the coming gameweek. The planner scores every candidate transfer across a rolling multi-gameweek window, subtracts the four points, and recommends the hit only when what is left is a clear margin rather than a rounding error. A transfer that wins this week and loses the next two is not an upgrade, and it will tell you so.

Should I roll my free transfer or use it?

Banking a transfer is treated as a real option with its own value, not as doing nothing. Holding one is worth having two next week, which is what makes a double move or an early wildcard-style repair possible, and that option value is priced in. If no available move beats keeping the transfer, the recommendation is to roll it.

Who should I captain this week?

Captaincy is scored on upside as well as expected points, because doubling a player is a risk decision rather than an average one. The planner names a captain and a vice-captain from projected minutes, fixture difficulty expressed as goal and clean-sheet probabilities, and position-specific scoring, and shows the numbers behind the call so you can disagree with it knowingly.

When should I play a chip?

Wildcard, Free Hit, Bench Boost and Triple Captain are each evaluated against the rest of the season rather than against this week alone. A chip played for a small gain is a chip you do not have when the fixture swing arrives, so "hold your chips" is a normal and confident answer here, not a failure to decide.

Do I need an account, and is my team safe?

No account, and nothing to install. The planner reads only public FPL data using the Team ID you type; it never asks for your Fantasy Premier League login and cannot make transfers on your behalf. Signing in to this site is optional and only syncs your own settings across your devices. The privacy page lists exactly what is sent where.
